Our Play Team offers exciting, action packed, creative play schemes designed to keep children busy and joyful during the holidays.
What are Play Schemes?
Playschemes are action packed events run by our award winning Play Team during school holidays. They are designed to capture the attention and imagination of your children by providing an exciting range of fun, creative and hands-on activities, all within a safe and friendly environment.
So be it one day or more, if you want a great solution for keeping the children occupied, our play schemes do just that!

We offer Five types of play schemes:
Artplay Fun 
Exciting and creative activities. Whatever artwork they create (masks, pictures, models), they can take them home with them.
Sportsplay Fun

A variety of sport activities offered alongside our established Artplay activities. (These will be offered at selected schemes).
Musicplay Fun - NEW!
A variety of music workshops, including DJ Mix and School of Rock. These will be offered at selected schemes alongside our established Artplay activities.
Circusplay Fun - NEW!
Learning some fun circus skills, including 'Clowning Around'. This is a three-day workshop offered alongside our establised Artplay activities.
Dramaplay Fun

This scheme offers a great range of drama workshops alongside our established artplay creative programmes. They are perfect for both aspiring actors or simply children who love getting into costume and having fun.

How do I book?
In order to book a place on any playscheme, you must ensure that you fully complete and return your booking form
.
You must also tell us how you wish to pay:
- If you wish to pay by cheque then please include it with the form. (Further details on how to pay by cheque are found on the form itself).
- If you wish to pay by credit/debit card, then clearly select this option on the form.
The play scheme brochure can also be found in leisure centres, libraries and other public places. If you would like to be sent a copy, please call 020 8207 7568 and we will add you to the Play Scheme mailing list.
Places are given on a first come first served basis, so book fast!
How much will it cost?
You may book a child on any combination of schemes and there's no restriction on the number of days they attend.

How to pay
- By phone: please tick the box to pay by credit or debit card on the booking form. Also include your telephone number and preferred time for us to call you to take payment.
- By post: to pay by cheque please send by post. Write your child's details and the scheme code you wish to book on the reverse of the cheque and attach it to the booking form.
- All payment types are accepted face-to-face at the Civic Offices.
- We are now registered to accept some Childcare vouchers. Please contact us to pay by this method.
Hert cards are available from Hertsmere Leisure Centres to borough residents on benefits such as:
- Jobseeker's allowance
- income support
- disabled persons tax credit
- housing benefit
- council tax benefit
- assistance with NHS charges
- free school meals or,
- if you have a GP referral.
Hert card holders are able to get discounts on play schemes and some leisure centre facilities. A card costs £2.25 for six months and covers two adults and up to four children under 16 living at the same address.
Please note that a Hert card is different to a Hertsmere Leisure card.

What will I need to bring?
When your sign your child in on the day, please ensure you have brought the following:
- A nut free packed lunch with drink (See Packed Lunch Guidlines
) - A completed Medical Consent Form
