The Museum is located just off the High Street and tells the story of Bushey, its people and its unique artistic history. It has a large collection relating to Sir Hubert von Herkomer RA and his world-renowned Art School. Also on show is the Lucy Kemp-Welch Memorial Trust collection, including many of Lucy's superb paintings of horses. Bushey's social history is illustrated through displays on life in the village both in time of peace and war, some of the many locally made products and historic maps.
The museum's education service offers a wide range of hands-on experiences for primary schools.
There is a local studies room (open by appointment) within the museum with access to a wide variety of publications and archives relating to the local area.
The Friends of Bushey Museum has over 800 members, making it one of the largest and most successful in the country! It supports the museum through fundraising activities and have a varied programme of meetings and events. You can join the friends online through the museum’s website or in the museum, annual subscription starts from as little £9.50.
