Partying in the park

Want to see some free entertainment this summer? A range of musicians and dance acts will take to the stage in Bushey soon.

Following the success of Party in the Park in July this year, the second live event is set to take place on Friday 19 August at The Moatfield, located between Moatfield Road and Bournehall Lane, in Bushey from 2pm to 6pm.

Turbo, who was a finalist in the Sky One Got to Dance programme, will be performing along with the other acts at the event.

Cllr Brenda Batten, Leisure and Culture portfolio holder, said: “The event in July was a huge success. The summer holidays can be an expensive time of year, for both parents and young people, so attending Party in the Park is a great way of getting out and about without spending any money.

“Everyone is welcome to attend – whether you enjoy listening to music or watching dancers perform there is something to entertain you at this event.”

You are welcome to bring a picnic blanket and your own food along to each of the events.

The third and final Party in the Park event will take place on Friday 26 August at Furzefield Park, Mutton Lane, in Potters Bar from 2pm to 6pm.

There are a number of other Be There! Do It! activities organised over the summer for young people aged from nine to 19 years. This year you can get involved in a west end theatre trip; top golf trip; an adventure sports day; street dance and a motorcycle ride session among other things. Some activities are free and others are being offered at subsidised prices. You need to book for some of the sessions - so check out what you would like to get involved in today!
