The winning design to illustrate Borehamwood's Ark Theatre has been unveiled.

Jake with his sister Alice - who is holding his original design - and parents Adam and Daliah and Hertsmere Mayor Cllr Rosemary Gilligan
The design created by eight-year-old Jake Salem, from Shenley, saw off competition from hundreds of other local school children and will be turned into a logo to represent the theatre.
Jake, who attends Clore Shalom School in Shenley, drew a picture of a multi-coloured-bird flying across the sea with an ark hanging in its feet.
Jake said: "I was really pleased that my logo was chosen because I put a lot of effort in to it. The design came easily to me when I was told the theatre was called The Ark as I thought of Noah."
Cllr Brenda Batten, portfolio holder for leisure, culture and health, said: "Lots of the designs which were submitted contained an ark and were along a similar theme, but we all felt that Jake's design had a little extra and was simple, yet charming. We feel it will stand the test of time."
Zoe Watkins, Arts College Director at Hertswood School, added: "The final design is not an exact replica of Jake's drawing but we had to interpret it so that it would work if it was very small on stationery, as well as very big, for the entrance to the premises. We liked the colour and the movement of it."
Four primary schools - Clore Shalom, Summerswood, Shenley and Woodlands - and Hertswood lower school all took part in the competition and five designs were shortlisted earlier in the month.
Jake was presented with a certificate at a school assembly by Mayor of Hertsmere Cllr Rosemary Gilligan. He and his family will also be guests of honour at the official opening ceremony of the Ark Theatre, due to be held in November.
The exact colour palette for the design are yet to be decided, which is the next step in the process.
