A forum has been set up to help celebrate the artistic and historic heritage of Hertsmere.
A wide variety of local community volunteer groups play a significant role in developing arts and culture across the borough - celebrating things such as fine art, film and television, sculpture and archaeology. In order to bring together those groups, the Hertsmere Heritage Forum has been set up.
Membership includes Bushey Museum and Art Gallery, Potters Bar Museum and History Society, Elstree and Borehamwood Museum, Hertsmere Borough Council, Elstree Screen Heritage, Radlett History Society and Hertfordshire County Council.
Among other things the forum aims to provide a joint voice for museums and heritage, helping to protect current services and develop provision across the borough and to discuss ways in which organisations can work on projects to address issues and needs.
Chair of the Heritage Forum and Hertsmere Borough Council Portfollio Holder for Culture, Leisure and Health, Councillor Brenda Batten said: "The Heritage Forum provides a unified and co-ordinated approach to celebrating and developing Hertsmere's rich cultural heritage and I am delighted Hertsmere Borough Council is a key partner in supporting such a dedicated collection of local volunteers."
