Once again Hertsmere's award winning play team is running an action packed creative arts programme this summer and booking opens on Monday 25th June. Due to an overwhelming response last year, residents are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

The play scheme is open to children aged from five to 11 years old and will run from five venues across the borough; Parkside School, Borehamwood; Clore Shalom School, Shenley; Ladbrooke School, Potters Bar; Bushey Heath Primary School, Bushey; and Fairfield School, Radlett.

The scheme starts from Monday 6th August and will run for three consecutive weeks.  The play team offer a variety of creative activities including art, crafts and games to help keep children happy and active over the holiday period.

Last summer, the Hertfordshire Quality Standards Report said : 'Sessions are very relaxed and keep children occupied at all times.  The leader explains the programme of the day and information is presented at child level.  A balance of different activities are provided... allowing [children] opportunities for self expression within their artwork.  Very good team work, good understanding of children's needs and development.  Staff listen to children and encourage communication'.

The cost for Hertsmere residents is £70 per child for one week but a sibling can go for just £50.

The Hert Card price is £50 per child per week - please note that this is not the Hertsmere Leisure Card and residents will have to quote an issue number when booking.

The cost for those who do not live in Hertsmere is £85 per child per week.

Payment can be made by cheque and credit or debit cards over the phone.

Due to the popularity of the scheme, residents can only book onto one week of the play scheme programme initially.  However, they may place their child on to the waiting list for the other schemes.

To book a place, residents must return a provisional booking form which they can download here.

Alternatively residents can request a brochure and form from us on 020 8207 7568.

Bookings by telephone on the same number will not be taken until Wednesday 11 July 2007.
