Hertsmere's award-winning Play Team held a week of spooky fun holiday play schemes in Bushey Heath, Radlett, Shenley and Potters Bar.

Children had the chance to make spooky goo for Halloween as well as masks and bats and in Shenley children helped launch a miniature rocket.

Liz Paffley, environmental health officer, was on hand with a special ultra -violet machine and glitter glow cream to show children what germs can be found on their hands and how they can keep themselves germ free.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Sandra Parnell went along to the Bushey Heath event. She said: "The children who attend always have fun and this week was no exception. I had a truly wonderful time with the children and it was great to see them having so much fun. Our holiday play schemes have operated for more than 15 years and I am confident they will continue to provide a quality and affordable service for local children long into the future."
