Footie in Bushey

Following success in Borehamwood, an exciting new sports programme is coming to Bushey.

Football sessions will be offered to young people aged between 15 and 19 late in the evening as part of the Twilight Sports Programme launched earlier in the year.

The first session will be on Thursday 22 May and sessions will continue every Thursday between 9.30pm and 10.30pm.  The sessions will take place at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre, Aldenham Road and are free for the first six weeks. 

The scheme was piloted in Borehamwood and has proved very popular with more than 20 young people attending football sessions each week.

Helen Bottomley, Community Sports Officer, said: "As the sessions have been so popular in Borehamwood, we wanted to offer them to young people in Bushey as well.

"The sessions are special because they offer something for young people to do in the evening when they can get bored as other places are closed. 

"I hope the sessions are as popular in Bushey as they have been in Borehamwood."
