Children and adults with learning disabilities will have a whole funfair to themselves this week, at King George Recreation Ground in Bushey.
The event has been organised by the Parks Department at Hertsmere Borough Council, with Amer's Family Funfair, for Watford Mencap's Leisure Together service.
This special event is part of a series of events run by the council's Parks Department in conjunction with a number of special needs groups. This is the fourth year this particular event will be run with Watford Mencap.
Brenda Pegg, the Leisure Together Co-ordinator for Hertsmere at Watford Mencap is enthusiastic about the event: "Every year the free funfair gets more successful and this year we have well over 100 people attending. This event is very special in giving people with learning disabilities the chance to enjoy rides and have a lot of fun in a supported environment. I would like to thank Shaz Setoudeh and the Hertsmere Parks team for organising this event and John Amer and his family for their generosity."
Shaz Setoudeh, Parks Events and Projects Officer at Hertsmere Borough Council, said: "This will be the fourth year we have run this event with Amer's Family Funfair for Watford Mencap. It gets more popular every year and I'm really pleased to be involved with such a fantastic event."
