The Herts Youth Games take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May at the University of Hertfordshire's sport village in Hatfield. The event aims to raise the profile of sport and encourage young people to take part in it. The games promote healthy living, fun, and fair play.
Olympic medallists Colin Jackson and Alison Mowbray will be at the event and as well as the actual competition, there will be 'come and try it' opportunities for sports such as speed stacking, a relatively new sport where participants stack and unstack specially designed plastic cups.
Hertsmere is one of the ten local authorities in Hertfordshire taking part.
