Team Hertsmere is keen to recruit a few more athletes to compete in the Herts Youth Games next month.
Players are needed for the following sports: athletics, basketball, netball, table tennis, tag rugby and kwik cricket. Practice sessions are taking place now so if you're interested in playing any of these sports and taking part in the competition, just turn up or contact Helen Bottomley, Hertsmere's Community Sports Officer, for more information on 020 8207 7801 or email helen.bottomley@hertsmere.gov.uk
- Athletics for under 11s mixed - Mondays, 6.30-7.30pm at Hertswood School, Borehamwood (50p per week)
- Basketball for under 12s mixed - Fridays, 7.30-9.30pm at Hertswood Centre, Borehamwood (first session free and then £3.10 a week with a Hert card)
- Netball for girls under 15 - Wednesdays, 6-7pm at Haberdashers Girls School, Elstree (free)
- Table tennis for under 19s mixed - Mondays, 8-10pm at Maxwell Park Community Centre, Borehamwood (first session free and then £2 per week)

The Herts Youth Games, supported by Herts Sports Partnership, is a celebration of sport which aims to raise the profile of sport and encourage involvement. This year the Games will take place on Saturday and Sunday 10 and 11 May 2008 at the University of Hertfordshire's sport village in Hatfield with celebrity guests Colin Jackson and Alison Mowbray.
