Every year local schools and sports clubs come together in partnership with Hertsmere Borough Council to take part in the Hertfordshire Youth Games.
The main aim of the festival is to attract children into regular sporting activity and all participating children are invited to join all the various sports clubs involved in the event.
In 2008, Hertsmere entered 8 teams into the youth games including Netball, Hockey, Basketball, Boccia, Badminton and Athletics.
This year, the Youth Games took place over the weekend of the 10th & 11th May at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield.
