Olympics London 2012

London is now the host city for the Olympics

On the 24th August, Hertsmere celebrated the Olympic handover.  The Mayor, Cllr Sandra Parnell and Michael Perham(who at 14 became the youngest person to sail the Atlantic single handed) raised the Olympic Flag.  Water Walkerz (giant hamster balls, which you climb inside and literally walk on water) were also launched at the Venue in Borehamwood.

Hertsmere Borough Council is part of the Hertfordshire is Ready for Winners Partnership which is working together to maximise the opportunities from the 2012 Olympics for the people of Hertfordshire.
