Where can I find information on sports pitches and how can I hire one?

Football

There are a variety of football pitches across the borough. Bookings must be made in advance.

Rugby

There is one public rugby pitch in Meadow Park, Borehamwood.

Bookings must be made in advance.  For further information please call Jane Willson on 01462 735284 at John O'Conner (Grounds Maintenance) Ltd.  The majority of clubs book for a whole season's use of a pitch.

Astro Turf (football and hockey)

A floodlit 5-a-side astro turf pitch is available at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre .  For further details please call 01923 470140.

A full size floodlit pitch is available at the Furzefield Centre . It is also used for 6-a-side football and hockey.  For further details please call 01707 850500. 

Tennis

There are public tennis courts that are available free of charge. They are located at:

• Meadow Park, Borehamwood
• King George Recreation Ground, Bushey

Please note that the courts are available on a first come, first served basis.

For block bookings or training sessions, a charge will be made and the court will need to be booked in advance. 

Please note, during the summer holidays training sessions are held regularly at both locations.  For further information contact the Parks Team.

Aldenham Parish Council  and Bushey Grove Leisure Centre  also have tennis courts and facilities available.

Cricket

The borough does not have any public cricket pitches. There are however private clubs, these can be found on the Sports Club page.

Bowls

There aren't any public bowling lawns in the borough. There are however, two bowling clubs that operate in Meadow Park (Borehamwood) and King George Recreation Ground (Bushey).  You will find there details on the Sports Club page.

Are sports pitches available for competitions?

Yes, sports pitches are available for competitions. You should book early to avoid dissapointment. Please contact the Parks Team for advice about different locations, availability and whether a pitch or court suits your needs.
