Hertsmere Annual Youth Conference

Once a year, pupils in years nine to 13 from secondary schools across Hertsmere are offered a fantastic opportunity to get involved in local democracy and decisions that affect their lives.

The event which usually takes place in February covers a range of topical issues affecting young people in Hertsmere; gives them a chance to learn about how democracy works; and provides them with an opportunity to meet local councillors to discuss and give their opinions on local issues.

Last year was an enjoyable and action-packed day led by local theatre company FLIP which uses performance to promote democratic engagement in a fun and light-hearted way.
