Inspection of work in progress
The person responsible for carrying out controllable building works has a legal duty to inform the Council when work starts and when certain vital stages are ready for inspection.
This is a very important part of the Building Control System. In order to ensure that the proposed work is carried out to correct building standards, and comply with Building Regulations, inspection of building works in progress are carried out by Building Control Surveyors at several stages in the construction process.
For further information on inspections see the Work in Progress section of the Householder’s Guide To Extending Or Altering Your Home.
