  • Advertisement consent

    Advertisement and directional signs erected without consent can be subject to prosecution in the Courts where substantial fines can be imposed.

    The Development Control section is responsible for the consideration of planning applications, enforcement action where breaches of control have occurred, the administration of the appeals process and the provision of information and advice about the planning system in general.

    The Enforcement team investigates approximately 600 new complaints every year and the Council, at its discretion, may take the appropriate enforcement action to secure compliance with planning law.
