Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement explains how the Council consults the community of Hertsmere on planning issues.
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is part of the new planning framework for the Borough. It sets out how the community will be consulted in the preparation of planning documents and in the determination of major planning applications.
On 16 November 2005, the Council approved the SCI for submission to the Secretary of State and for a six-week period of public inspection, which was held between 25 November 2005 and 6 January 2006. A total of 19 representations were made. A link to the Schedule of these responses is included below.
The Council received the Inspector's Report from the Planning Inspectorate on 14th June 2006. The report is binding on the Council and gave a number of specific recommendations as to how the SCI must be changed. These changes have been made and on September 20th 2006, Hertsmere Borough Council resolved to adopt its Statement of Community Involvement at a meeting of the full Council. The SCI and associated documents are available to download by following the links provided below.
