Have your say on improvements to Bushey High Street
16-Oct-2008 10:36:00
Should the High Street be covered by a controlled parking zone? Do you think the High Street would look better with fewer street signs and adverts on shop fronts?
The council is proposing a number of changes and improvements to the Bushey High Street Conservation Area and we want to know what you think.
The plans will be displayed at Bushey Museum and Art Gallery, Rudolph Road, on Thursday 16 and Friday 24 October, from 4pm to 7pm so drop in and tell us what you think.
Alternatively you can give your views via email to planning@hertsmere.gov.uk or write to:

Recommendations include:
- changes to the boundaries of the conservation area
- the production of generic design guidance to help steer development
- tightened enforcement controls to better manage adverts on shop fronts
- the introduction of a controlled parking zone for the High Street, subject to the support of local residents and businesses
- reducing the amount of street clutter i.e. unnecessary signs
- a shop front and upper floor improvement grants scheme
- protecting the trees within the grounds of Bushey Hall School with a tree preservation order.
