LDF Strategic Environmental Assessment Determination and Scoping Report
An Environmental Assessment is being prepared which will form part of the Sustainability Appraisal of the Local Development Framework
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations (2004) (regulation 9(1)), Hertsmere Borough Council has determined that the Hertsmere Local Development Framework and its constituent Local Development Documents are likely to have significant environmental effects. A copy of this determination is also available at the Civic Offices, Elstree Way, Borehamwood, Herts WD6 1WA.
An Environmental Assessment is being prepared which will form part of the Sustainability Appraisal of the Local Development Framework. In accordance with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004) and the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations (2004) the Local Development Documents contained within the Hertsmere Local Development Framework (LDF) require a Sustainability Appraisal, incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment.
The appraisal is an assessment of the sustainability of the LDF objectives and policies, commencing with a Scoping Report and culminating in the production of a Sustainability Appraisal report, which will include predicted effects on sustainability of the emerging Local Development Documents and details of any subsequent changes made.
Strategic Environmental Assessment/Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report.
The Council has published a draft Scoping Report setting out the proposed environmental, social and economic criteria on which the assessment of the planning objectives and policies in its emerging Local Development Framework (LDF) are to be made.
In accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations (2004) (regulations 12(5) and (6)), the Scoping Report, a number of statutory consultation bodies have been consulted for a five week period on the Scoping Report, ending on Thursday 3 November 2005. Adjoining local authorities and other selected key stakeholders have also been notified.
