Controlled Parking Zones and permits

Information about controlled parking zones in Hertsmere and application forms for parking permits.

Residential Parking Permit

To be eligible to apply for a Residential parking permit you must reside within a controlled parking zone and have residential/visitor parking bays within your road.

Landlords who own but do not reside at a property within a CPZ  cannot apply for permits. If you have to carry out work or need to visit the property you must obtain a Visitor Permit from the tenant or purchase a Commercial Dispensation.

Cost of Residential Parking Permit

Each household that is eligible for a residential permit will be issued one free permit each year. Any further/additional permits are chargeable as follows:

Please note that the number of residential parking permits is restricted to a maximum of four per household.

Change of Vehicle/Replacement Permit

If you are changing you vehicle within the expiry date of your permit, or need to

replace your current permit there is a charge of £15.

Any permit that has vehicle details change or a replaced permit will still have the existing expiry date as the original permit. ( unless it is the annual renewal )

Where proof is required

The Council will require proof of address and vehicle ownership upon application to ensure that the right of legitimate users of the CPZ scheme are not compromised from illegal and / or unauthorised motorists. These checks will therefore help ensure that the scheme works for you are an eligible resident living within the CPZ area. The following details will be required:

Resident permits should not be used to park when visiting other areas within the zone, such as visiting other households or local amenities.
