The Council is responsible for ensuring that street name plates are provided and fitted in suitable positions.
The address of a property is an important issue. Organisations, postal and emergency services and the general public need an efficient way of locating and referencing properties.
We are responsible for the naming and numbering of new or existing properties and streets in Hertsmere. The Council is also responsible for repair and maintenance of street name plates when this becomes necessary either due to accidental damage, vandalism or normal wear and tear.
To report damaged, missing or illegible street names plates or if you wish to change the name or number of an existing property, or name or number new developments, you will need to apply to us.
