Restart Grants – from April 2021

As part of the March 2021 budget, the government announced a new Restart Grant that will run from 1 April 2021.
This is a one off grant only for businesses on the rating list.
This grant will replace the Local Restrictions Support Grant which closed on 1 April.

How do I apply for this grant?

If you have already applied for a grant since the 2nd lockdown, you do not need to do anything. Hertsmere staff are busy checking the business rate database to identify eligible businesses.

If you have not applied for a grant, there is information that we will need from you. Please check your eligibility for this grant first but if you wish to claim a restart grant you will need to email Revenues@Hertsmere.gov.uk explaining why you are applying.

How much will be paid?

The amount of grant that you will receive is dependent on the sector that your business is in and the rateable value (RV) of your business. If you are unsure what sector your business is in, please see paragraph titled How do I know what sector I am in?
