Animal Licensing Fees: Combination Licences

Last Modified April 05, 2024

If you are a Commercial Business with 2 different Animal Activities you can apply for a Combination Licence.

This only applies to Animal Boarding activities.

Both activities are inspected independently and risk rated, you would be granted 1 licence with a star rating which relates to the lowest rating aspect of your business. i.e. if you have kennels which are rated a 3 star but a cattery which is rated 5 stars your licence will be for 3 stars.

Animal Licensing fees come in 2 parts. The Application Fee must be submitted with your application paperwork and is non refundable if your application is refused.

Application Fees
NEW APPLICATIONS  £276 * See additional fee structure
RENEWAL APPLICATIONS   £229 * See additional fee structure

Additional fees are dependant on the size of each activity. The application fees relate to a set number of animals e.g. - Day Care - 50 Dogs, Kennels - 25 dogs, Catteries - 25 cats. If your business is above these numbers the below additional fees are to be included.

Additional Fees
 Activity Costs
Day Care - Per additional 50 Dogs  £51
 Cattery - Per additional 25 Cats £23
Kennels - Per additional 25 dogs  £45

Once an application has been processed an inspection will then be completed. Depending on the outcome of the inspection you will be granted a star rating with your licence. The star rating relates to the length of your licence.
