Donate unwanted furniture to the British Heart Foundation and Peace Hospice shops
The British Heart Foundation and Peace Hospice shops in Borehamwood are always looking for furniture and items to offer at low prices. If you have an item of furniture that you no longer need and it is in good working order for someone else to use, please call the local British Heart Foundation shop in Borehamwood on 020 8236 0912 or the Peace Hospice on 020 8953 1985.
If the item is deemed to be in suitable condition, the shop will arrange a free collection from anywhere in Hertsmere. Our leaflet furniture re-use provides more information.
There are also some great online sites such as Freecycle and Gumtree where you can donate/collect items for free.
Alternatively, you can take your items to the local tip also known as a Household Waste Recycling Centre.

We can remove bulky items from your property for a fee. To ask for a special collection please contact us on 020 8207 7480.
General points to follow:
- All items you want to be collected must be listed
- Only items listed will be removed
- Items should not be filled with other rubbish
- Items must be easily accessible and all placed at one point outside of your property.
It costs £45 for three items and £10 per item thereafter. We will collect a maximum of five household items, such as a three-piece suite (which is classed as three items), carpets, chairs, beds and mattresses. Please note: TVs and fridges/freezers cost £45 each.
