Hertsmere Borough Council has successfully secured Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery funding (separate from the former voucher scheme) to be administered by the Council to assist local low-income households experiencing fuel poverty. Hertsmere Borough Council are working alongside the National Energy Foundation to deliver grants to eligible residents. The Green Homes Grant scheme aims to help the country achieve its net-zero carbon goal, while also helping households save money, stay warm, and reduce their carbon footprint.
This scheme is targeting households who would like a warmer home but cannot afford to make energy-saving home improvements, with fully funded measures worth up to £10,000 for homeowners – or £5000 contribution for landlords. These energy efficiency measures may include wall, loft and underfloor insulation, and low carbon heating upgrades, which will help to improve the warmth of your home and reduce your energy bills.
Households in specific areas are being contacted by letter so we would urge you to consider if you qualify and then make contact with our partner on the number given in the letter.
If you have not been contacted by letter but think you may qualify, please contact our partner the National Energy Foundation on their free helpline at 0800 038 6030, or alternatively email email@example.com with your full name, address and phone number after which one of their advisors will give you a call.
Note: The Green Homes Grant voucher scheme was withdrawn by the Government due to administrative issues on 31 March 2021. We will update this page if there are any further developments.
