Clinical waste

Last Modified November 26, 2020

Is it a clinical collection?

If your waste includes sanitary towels, incontinence pads, swabs, dressings or nappies you do not need a clinical collection. All these items can be put in your black bin.

Alternatively, if you are treated at home by a nurse or health care professional they should take away any waste (e.g. dressings, medications, etc.) with them.

Sharps boxes

If you have needles, syringes or other medical sharps that you need to dispose of, we can provide you with a sharps box.

Please note: whilst we are able to collect sharps boxes with purple lids, we cannot provide replacement boxes.

Other infectious waste

If you produce other waste that is infectious, we can provide clinical waste sack collections.

To find out more or arrange a clinical waste collection please call 020 8207 7480.
