There's been a ringing endorsement for our people management processes, with the announcement that we've retained our prestigious Investors in People (IIP) silver award.

The IIP standard is a respected mark of quality worldwide and recognises an organisation or company's commitment to leading, supporting and developing its people.

The IIP assessment took place in the last few weeks and involved an independent assessor coming to Civic Offices and our depot to interview members of staff of various grades across a number of service areas.  The results showed that we retain real strengths in key people management areas such as communication, continuous improvement and leadership, as well as a firm emphasis on supporting the learning and development of our staff.  We met 146 different evidence requirements laid down by IIP.

Chief Executive Donald Graham commented: "This is great news for us and is testament to the hard work that has been invested across the organisation to lead, develop and support our workforce who are great ambassadors for our authority."
