New website to help Shop Local, Stay Safe this season

Last Modified December 03, 2021

A new online business directory to help customers and local retailers to connect launched this week.

Our economic development team have launched their go-to site www.hertsmereworks.co.uk for anyone looking for a product or service and wanting to Shop Local and Stay Safe this festive season. So whether, it’s beauty or haircare you're after, somewhere to celebrate the season, something to brighten up your home or garden or a local tradesperson for that emergency repair or improvement, you can head to www.hertsmereworks.co.uk for ideas and inspiration.

The directory is free to use for consumers and free for businesses to register. Among the businesses currently on the site is Wrap It By Tina, a gift-wrapping and personalised gift service based in Arundel Drive, Borehamwood. More are being encouraged to join.

Professional gift wrapper and trainer, Tina Nandha said: "Knowing that I can reach more local people through this directory is great.

"Shopping small and shopping local is very important for our economy, and I look forward to being a service provider for many local businesses."

Councillor Caroline Clapper, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Property, said: "We're really looking forward to welcoming more businesses to the Hertsmere Works website.

"The directory is completely free-of-charge and a great way to promote your product or service and reach the people who matter to you.

"Our website is also a timely reminder to anyone, who, perhaps has increasingly relied on online shopping, of the quality and range of products and services available on their doorsteps.

"Hertsmere has four main retail centres – Potters Bar, Borehamwood, Radlett and Bushey – all with their own distinct offers and characteristics.

"So this festive season, why not jump on to www.hertsmereworks.co.uk and remind yourself of all the wonderful things your local high street has to offer."

There are also details of how businesses can access free advice and support from our economic development team on the website.
