Councillor Kumail Jaffer resigns

Kumail Jaffer has resigned as a Hertsmere ward councillor for Borehamwood Kenilworth in order to pursue professional interests outside the borough.

Hertsmere’s Interim Managing Director Sajida Bijle received a letter of resignation from Mr Jaffer on 31 December 2019. 

Sajida said: “We thank Kumail for his time as a local councillor and wish him well for the future.”

Mr Jaffer was a Labour councillor and was elected to Hertsmere Borough Council in May 2019.

Constituents in Borehamwood Kenilworth ward who wish to contact a local councillor can instead contact Cllr Cynthia Barker or Cllr Rebecca Butler.
