Revised Sky Studios proposal gets second airing

Last Modified May 28, 2020

Changes to the design of a proposed major film production facility in Hertsmere means that members of the public will have a further opportunity to have their say.

A second round of public consultation for the proposed multi-million pound development off Rowley Lane in Borehamwood, known as Sky Studios Elstree, has been launched after revisions to the planning application were submitted by landowners Legal and General Assurance Society Ltd, in conjunction with Sky Studios.

Among the proposed changes are plans to reduce the size of the on-site multi-storey car park by one-storey; remove some office accommodation from the production support buildings; and relocate three plant enclosures. An addendum to one of the application documents, the Environmental Statement, has also been submitted.

Details about these changes, as well as the original submissions can be viewed by going here and searching for either Rowley Lane or reference number 20/0315/FULEI.

Comments on these changes and the additional documents should be submitted by Saturday 27 June. A final decision on the application will be made later this summer.

An additional planning application seeking approval for enabling works at the site was approved by the our planning committee last week (Thursday 21 May). The committee meeting can be viewed here.
