A new look Hertsmere leisure centre is scaling new heights with its customer experience following the opening of a new soft play and climbing area as part of a major refurbishment project.
Energetic visitors of all ages to Furzefield Leisure Centre in Potters Bar can now try climbing a giant staircase or dice tower, while young children can whizz their way around slides attached to the giant spider tower within the soft play area.
Once finished climbing and playing, a new café and seating area offers the chance to relax and unwind with a bite to eat and some drink.
Safety equipment is provided, including harnesses for the climbing frame, while trained instructors are on hand to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
The £2m refurbishment has also included improvements to the sports hall, with the installation of new flooring, while a major upgrade to the gym, due to open in January, will provide a functional training space offering high intensity interval training, speed resistance and neuromuscular training.
A new cycling studio is also set to open this month, along with a new luxury spa by the summer, while there will also be improvements to the changing facilities and reception area.
Councillor Caroline Clapper, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Sport, said: “With these new facilities, Furzefield Leisure Centre is the perfect place for the family to go for some fun, healthy activities.
“Children will love being able to climb the new walls in a safe environment or try the spider tower slides in the soft play area.
“Adults can join them on the climbing walls, or if they would prefer to relax, they can enjoy a coffee and some food at the new café.”
