Our staff have donated hundreds of items of groceries to local Foodbanks to aid families struggling with their finances this Christmas.
Colleagues based at the Civic Offices were encouraged to donate to Borehamwood and Potters Bar Foodbanks in time for their festive collections.
Items ranging from tinned food, pasta, breakfast cereals and biscuits to festive mince pies and chocolates, are being delivered by staff to the two Foodbanks.
Sajida Bijle, our Interim Manager Director, said staff were keen to support the Foodbanks. She commented: “As a council we work hard to try to support people and work with other organisations to help families with financial issues within our community.
“I was so proud of the amount of food donated during the collections. Our staff donated a staggering amount of food and household items to these two Foodbanks. They are a credit to the council. We hope the donations go some way to helping those people in real need this Christmas.”
