Allotments

An allotment plot is a great way to grow your own low cost food. It offers recreational and social opportunities whilst providing habitats for many forms of wildlife.

We have five allotment sites available for public rent in Hertsmere; three in Bushey and two in Potters Bar. For other sites in the borough please see details at the bottom of this page.

If you are feeling unwell please do not visit your plot or enter the allotment site.

Allotment sizes and fees 2025/26:

A half plot is 126.5 metres sq (5 poles): £60 per year.

A standard plot is 253 metres sq (10 poles): £95 per year.
