Planning application fees
Please note, the council's payment system will be down on Wednesday 13 October from around 1pm until 6pm for an essential upgrade. This will include the automated telephone line, website payments, payments over the telephone and the reception kiosk.There are different fees depending on the type of application you are making.

How to pay
You can pay for your application in a number of ways.
- By paying online. Please note that to make an online payment for planning fees you will need either your planning portal reference number or the planning application reference number.
- By cheque, payable to Hertsmere Borough Council. Send it with your application to our main address, details below.
- By debit or credit card over the phone, once you have submitted your application. Telephone 020 8207 2277.
- By asking a member of our Validation Team to contact you to obtain your card details. They will then complete the transaction for you using the online facility.
