On Thursday 2 May 2019 local elections were held across Hertsmere. These was for all 39 Hertsmere Borough Councillors and where appropriate town and parish councillors.
Poll cards for the May 2019 elections were delivered 21 - 26 March 2019.
Where do I vote?
For the elections in 2019 new ward boundaries are in place so your polling station may have changed. You should receive a Polling Card which tells you where to vote.

Remember the polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on the day of the election.
What if I can’t get to my polling station?
Our page on Different ways to Vote includes details of postal votes (where you can vote in advance of election day by post) and proxy voting (where you can ask someone to vote on your behalf).
- Postal vote applications and changes deadline is 5pm on Monday 15 April 2019.
- Proxy vote applications and deadline is 5pm Wednesday 24 April 2019.
Please ensure that where possible you make any requests well in advance. There are limited situations where you may be eligible to apply for a late proxy after the deadline, please contact the Elections team for more information.
What if I want to be a candidate?
Nominations have now closed for the elections. The list of Persons Nominated and Notices of Poll have now been published.
Nominations for the Thursday 2 May 2019 elections were open between Wednesday 20 March 2019 and 4pm Wednesday 3 April 2019.
