Performance management is all about getting the best possible outcomes for all our service users and customers. We seek to manage performance not as an end in itself, but as a way of achieving our objectives.

We are committed to improvement and achievement through the performance management framework that uses service planning, appraisals and competencies, financial and risk management and benchmarking.

We are bound by a range of goals and objectives that have been identified in partnership, through the Community Strategy, and adopted by us through our Corporate Plan. These goals direct our work by identifying areas that are important to our partners, to us and most importantly, to our local residents.

Performance Matters is a report presented to our Executive Performance Management Panel and subsequently the Executive four times a year. The purpose of the report is to provide a high level summary of key achievements, and to highlight where performance is not matching targets or expectations, along with any remedial action that is being taken to address this.

The performance report provides a narrative and key performance indicator information under each corporate priority, as well as  corporate health performance indicators, the high level budget position as at the end of the quarter and the corporate risk register.

An update on the activity of Hertsmere Together, the local strategic partnership, as well as our Leisure Services Contract with Hertsmere Leisure, are also set out in the report.
