Bins are collected over a two-week period, on the same day each week. We operate different collections across the borough each week, so please ensure you refer to the correct collection calendar for your property.
Christmas and New Year collections
Your waste and recycling collections change over the holiday period. Make sure you know your revised dates and check which of our two-week collection schedule applies to your household. Download your personalised Christmas collection calendar.
Reminder: there will be no green bin collections during the Christmas and New Year fortnight.

- brown bin for mixed recycling
- silver bin for food waste
- green bin (if subscribed) for garden waste
Please ensure bins are on your property boundary by 6am on the day of your collection.

Bin collections in flats
If you live in a flat or share bins the collections may differ, please visit Bin Collections for Flats for further information.
Bank holiday collections
When a public holiday falls in the week, all collections will take place one day later than usual — for example, Monday’s collection moves to Tuesday, and Friday’s moves to Saturday, unless you are told otherwise.
Christmas and New Year are the exception. Collection changes for this period will be communicated separately via a bin hanger on your black bin in December.
