Our Community Toilet Scheme provides clean, safe and accessible public toilets in more convenient locations for residents and visitors.
The scheme operates in Borehamwood, Bushey, Bushey Heath, Potters Bar, and Radlett. Under the scheme, you can use toilets in certain premises for free, without having to make a purchase or use their services.
Community Toilets
Local businesses are paid a small annual fee, between £600 and £1,000 to allow people to use their toilets during their normal opening hours. This fee is dependent on the facilities offered by the business. All community toilets are regularly inspected by our officers to ensure they meet appropriate standards.
Participating premises will display one of the following stickers in their window to indicate the facilities offered:

The Community Toilet Scheme provides an alternative to public and automated loos, which are costly to maintain and manage. The majority of automated public conveniences have closed but toilets in some of our parks remain.
