We're asking residents to help shape the future of Aberford Park in Borehamwood, as part of investment in this much-loved community green space.
The council wants your views on a range of proposed improvements – from play areas and skate park facilities, to options for enhancing Tykes Water, known locally as ‘The Brook’ - as a peaceful haven for both wildlife and visitors. This is your chance to influence which new features are prioritised and how investment is spent.
Whether you use the park for family time, fitness, relaxation or community events, your feedback will directly help ensure Aberford Park continues to meet the needs of local people today and in the future.
Councillor Chris Myers, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene, Parks, Leisure and Culture, said: “Aberford Park is a well-loved green space in the heart of Borehamwood and a cherished open space for many in our community.
“As part of a programme of investment in our parks and open spaces, we turn our attention to Aberford Park and are asking for your views to help shape how we improve the park for all. We want to hear from as many people as possible about what matters most to them – from play equipment and skate facilities, to the way we care for wildlife. Your views will guide how we improve the park for everyone.”
The survey asks for your thoughts on:
- What you’d most like to see improved in the park.
- How we should refresh the play areas – from equipment choices to inclusivity, themes and facilities like shelters and signs.
- Ideas to update the skate park, a valuable community hub.
- Choosing between two options to enhance Tykes Water (‘The Brook’).
- Suggestions for new features in the park.
- How funding should be prioritised to deliver the changes that matter most.
The online survey is quick to complete and will be open until 14 September. Don’t miss your chance to have your say and shape the future of Aberford Park.
