There are friends groups for Fishers Field Nature Reserve, King George Recreation Ground and The Rose Garden. We also work with Warren Estate Residents’ Association.
The Friends are supporting the development of this important heritage site. Regular events are held in the garden from jazz to story-telling and the Friends help fund these events which are enjoyed by many visitors.
The Friends are actively involved in the management of the nature reserve and recent projects include the creation of a new pond for wildlife. The Friends have helped achieve a Green Pennant Award for the site and hold an annual family picnic in September.
This long-established Friends group has helped achieve many projects including the Green Flag Award, the oak tree seat and spring planting. The Friends organise a number of events including the Bushey Fun Dog Show, Easter and Halloween trails, music and a quiz night, and Christmas lunch. To find out more visit their facebook page.
Borehamwood and Elstree
This Friends group is actively involved in improving the four central parks of Borehamwood – Aberford, Clarendon, Maxwell Hillside and Meadow Parks. Judith Sear, the former Chairperson of the Association, said: "The Parks in Borehamwood are a source of pleasure and relaxation for the whole community, from young to old. The Four Parks Association want to make sure that there is something for everyone to enjoy in our parks."
