Don't Bin Batteries, Vapes or Electricals

They can cause fires in collection vehicles and recycling facilities.

Recycle them safely at local collection points (opens in new tab)

Latest updates:

Battery fires start in seconds. Never put batteries, vapes, or battery-powered items in your household waste or recycling bin.
They can cause fires with little or no warning, putting workers at risk, damaging collection vehicles and recycling facilities, and disrupting local waste and recycling services.
Take batteries, vapes and small electrical items to designated recycling points (opens in new tab), participating supermarkets, retailers or your local Recycling Centre (opens in new tab).

19 June 2026 - Hot weather

During the current hot weather, some of our waste and recycling crews may start collections earlier than usual (5am onwards).

Our crews carry out physically demanding work while wearing full PPE, so earlier starts help reduce the amount of time spent working during the hottest part of the day.

Please make sure your bins are out in time for collection.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we help keep our crews safe during the warmer weather.

Please respect our staff. We will not tolerate any abusive behaviour towards our team. Thank you for your cooperation.

To view your collection schedule, please check your bin collection day.
