About the Year of Culture
The Year of Culture is a borough-wide celebration of creativity, heritage and community life. It will bring together residents, artists, libraries, schools, voluntary groups, businesses and local partners through a year-round programme of events, activities and opportunities to take part. The aim is to make culture visible, welcoming and accessible for everyone, while strengthening local pride, supporting wellbeing, encouraging participation and shining a light on the people and places that make Hertsmere distinctive. Each month will be themed to a different aspect of creativity and culture, making space for all our different creatives to showcase their talents and skills!
January Opening Showcase
Hertsmere Year of Culture 2027 Opening Showcase at Allum Hall on Sunday 10 January, from 1–4pm.
The Year of Culture is going to open with a bang!
The event will officially launch a fantastic year-long celebration of creativity, culture, heritage, and community across Hertsmere, bringing together local organisations, artists, community groups and residents. We are styling the event as a showcase and fair, so we will have a mixture of stallholders, activities and performances happening in conjunction with each other in the Hall.
The event is free and open to everyone across the borough and beyond. Bring along your friends and family and get a taste of what's to come!
