Hertsmere By-Election May 2026

Following the resignation of Councillor Meenal Sachdev, there will be a by-election held in Hertsmere on Thursday 7 May 2026. This election will be to duly elect a member to Hertsmere Borough Council within the Bentley Heath & the Royds Ward.

Important information for Electors

You must be on the electoral register, within the eligible electoral area, in order to vote. If you've recently moved, it's important that you register at your new address. If you are interested in standing for election in the Bentley Heath & the Royd Ward, you must complete a nominations pack. This pack must be hand delivered to the Returning Officer at the location listed on the Notice of Election.
