Webcasting of public meetings during pre-election period
Last Modified January 16, 2020
We have decided not to live webcast our council meetings (Executive; Full Council and Planning) until after the Borehamwood Kenilworth by election on Thursday 13 February.
We are currently in a pre-election period ahead of that by-election, which places restrictions on the information we can publish through our communication channels, including our website.
We normally live webcast these meetings, but it’s been considered more appropriate to record the webcast of our meetings before 13 February and post the recordings on our website immediately after the by-election, and not live webcast them.
The debates at these meetings, which can sometimes be politically sensitive, could influence or affect support for a particular political party and we have a duty to remain politically neutral through our communication channels throughout the pre-election period.
We will continue with live webcasting our full council meetings as normal after the by-election. You can view agendas and other papers for all our meetings by visiting www.hertsmere.gov.uk/councilagendas
