Voting at a polling station

Voting at a polling station

Your polling station will be open from 7am to 10pm on election day.

Find your polling station

The address of your polling station will be on the poll card sent to you before the election. You can also look it up using your postcode. You must vote at the station allocated to your address. You do not need to take your poll card, unless you are registered anonymously. If you need help finding your station, contact Electoral Services on 020 8207 7481 or elections@hertsmere.gov.uk.

What to take

You must bring an accepted form of photo ID to vote at a polling station in England. You can check the list of accepted photo ID. If you’re registered anonymously, find out what to take.

What happens when you arrive

Tell staff your name and address. They’ll check the register and your photo ID, then give you your ballot paper. Take it to a voting booth, follow its instructions, fold it and put it in the ballot box. Staff can explain the process if you’re unsure.

Help to vote

If you need help using the station or marking your ballot paper, see Accessible voting. You can also speak to staff when you arrive.
