Community Governance Review - your questions answered

Last Modified February 18, 2022

There’s a chance to find out more about the on-going Community Governance Review and what it could mean for the parishes of Ridge, Shenley and South Mimms at two public meetings taking place next week.

The events, which will take place at Ridge Village Hall on Thursday 24 February, will give residents and interested parties a chance to hear more about the review and how it could affect them and their local area.

The Community Governance Review is looking at how local communities in Hertsmere are governed, focusing on issues such as parish boundaries, the number of parish councillors, grouping of parishes and warding.

Councillor Morris Bright MBE, Leader of the Council, Portfolio Holder for Communications and Consultation and the Chair of the cross-party panel leading the review said: “These meetings are taking place to ensure our residents are fully informed on how the review will affect them and provide the opportunity to have any questions answered.

“As the review is a complex task, and the community response is highly valued, it is important our residents are clear about the potential impacts so that we can ensure residents across the borough are represented in the best possible way.

“We hope those who attend will come away with better insight about the review.”

The two meetings will take place at 6pm and 8pm and will be chaired by Councillor Bright. Ward councillors will also be in attendance and Councillor Bright will be supported by officers from our Legal and Electoral Services Teams.
