Last Modified January 08, 2020

Do you want to influence the way local services are provided? Have you thought about getting more involved in the Borehamwood community? If so, why not think about becoming a local councillor?

Following the resignation of Kumail Jaffer, who represented Borehamwood Kenilworth ward, we have a vacancy for a local councillor.

A by election for Borehamwood Kenilworth ward will take place on Thursday 13 February 2020.

Sam Langford, our Electoral Services Manager, said: "Councillors are people elected to represent their local community in the running of their local council.

"Being an effective councillor requires commitment and hard work, but can be exceptionally rewarding. Your influence will make a difference to the quality of people's lives and to the Hertsmere area. You will need to balance the best interests of your ward residents, the borough or county residents, your political party - if you have one - and the council."

The deadline for nominations is 4pm on Friday 17 January.

If you would like to stand as local councillor for Borehamwood Kenilworth ward please visit our Be a Councillor web page or call Electoral Services on 020 8207 2277.
