Nominations of candidates in Borehamwood by-election

Details of the candidates nominated for a by-election in Borehamwood have been published today (Friday 8 September).

The 'Statement of Persons Nominated' lists the candidates who will be standing to become a new Hertsmere Borough Councillor to represent the Borehamwood Kenilworth ward.

They are:

Elliman, Elaine (Liberal Democrats) 
Johnson, Vikki Louise (UK Independence Party (UKIP))     
Newmark, Jeremy James (Labour Party)
Stack, Lawrence (Independent)
Strack, Pat (The Conservative Party)

Only individuals who live in the Borehamwood Kenilworth ward, are eligible to vote and are registered, will be able to have their say on who gets elected.

If you are not registered, the deadline is midnight on 19 September. To register to vote, please visit www.gov.uk/registertovote

Voting in person at a polling station

If you want to vote in person and are registered, a poll card will be sent to you over the next few days. If you have not received a poll card please contact our Electoral Services team on 020 8207 7481 or email elections@hertsmere.gov.uk. The card tells you where you should vote – you can only vote at your allocated polling station. It is helpful if you take your poll card with you but you don’t have to.

Voting by post

If you are registered for a postal vote you will be sent your ballot paper before the election and you will need to post it back to us. To vote by post you need to apply and forms have to be completed and returned by 5pm on Wednesday 20 September. For a form go here or call our Electoral Services team on 020 8207 7481.

Voting by proxy

Proxy voting means another person can vote on your behalf. To have a proxy vote forms have to be completed and returned to us by 5pm on Wednesday 27 September. For a form go here or call our Electoral Services team on 020 8207 7481.
